A great man and Icon passed today by the name of Gunnery Sgt. R. Lee Ermery. Best known for his role to many as Gunnery Sgt. Hartman in the movie Full Metal Jacket. He is a true American hero and an icon to many. I watched Full Metal Jacket more times then I can count and always tried to watch as many of his History channel shows and specials as possible. He will surely be missed. I know this does not fit into the MMA world; but I wanted to make sure I showed someone I looked up to growing up as a kid and even used to act out his famous lines from Full Metal Jacket as a kid; some love a show by respect for true American icon.
You will be missed Gunny. SEMPER FI
